FAJANS, George Joseph Leopold. Dr. Juris. Director of Companies. Born Bernau, Germany, 13th July, 1911, son of Heinrich and Flora Fajans. Came to South Africa 1933. Educated at the Universities of Berlin, Freiburg and Erlangen. Director of Edenvale Timber and Hardware Co. (Pty) Ltd. Has been Town Councillor of Edenvale since 1953. Was Mayor of Edenvale 1958-59 and 1966-67; Member, Temple Shalom, Johannesburg; member, Jewish Ex-Service League. Member, Edenvale Bowling Club. Served with Imperial Light Horse in Southern and North Africa during the Second World War. Married Margot Stern, 1937; two sons, one daughter. Add.: 41, Second Avenue, P.O. Box 43, Edenvale.
