FINE, Rae. Born Utena, Lithuania, 29th August, 1907, daughter of Isaac and Leah Bloomah Katz. Came to South Africa 1912. Educated at Newtown Government School and Parktown High School, Johannesburg. Founded Kensington Hebrew Nursery School in 1942 and was its Chairman for ten years. Vice-Chairman of Provincial Hospitals Kosher Kitchens, 1954-61. Executive member, S.A. Women's Mizrachi. Vice-President, S.A. Council of Women's Synagogue Guilds, 1964. Vice-Chairman, Yeoville Synagogue Guild, 1963-64, and its Chairman in 1964. Married Samuel Harry Fine, 1930; one son, two daughters.
