FOBB, Lawrence. Retired. Born London 28th Au- gust, 1887, son of Woolf and Paulette Fobb. Educated at London Country School. Came to South Africa 1920. Retired on pension after long service in City Treasury, Durban. Member of the Durban United Hebrew Congregation since 1921; Secretary of the Congregation since 1946; Secretary, Chevra Kadisha; member, Durban Jewish Club, Hebrew Order of David and Circle Bowling Club. During First World War served in the Royal Fusiliers and R.A.F. in England; during World War II served with the South African Forces in the 2nd Anti-Tank Regiment and S.A.C.M.P. Married the late Bessie Kempner, 1909; two sons, two daughters; re-married 1964 to Esther Levy. Recreation: Watching soccer. Add.: 149, Hollander Crescent, Morningside, Durban.
