CASPARI, H. G. (Peter). Insurance Broker. Born Germany, 13th July, 1907, son of Fritz and Elsa Caspari. Educated at Humanistic High School, Germany. Came to South Africa, November, 1934. Director Peter Caspari (Pty.) Ltd. In 1935 introduced a new type of Sick Benefit Insurance to South Africa through African Guarantee and Indemnity Co. Ltd. Member, Central Committee of Poalei Zion since 1948; Executive member, S.A. Zionist Federation, 1961-67; S.A. Maccabi Council 1959- 64. Member, National Council of the S.A. Jewish Ex-Service League, and three times Chairman of the Johannesburg Branch of the League. During World War II served with South African Air Force, 1942-45. Member, Transvaal Automobile Club.
