CELENDER, Monty Samuel. Butcher. Born Warsaw, Poland, 7th December, 1921, son of Abraham Chaim and Zise Celender. Educated at Warsaw, Durban and Johannesburg and at Seminary for Hebrew Teachers and Ministers, Johannesburg. Director, Parkmore Horse Meat Supply (Pty) Ltd. Member of various Jewish organisations and a Deputy on the S.A. Jewish Board of Deputies. Served up North during World War II with 1st R.D.L.I., 1939-45; served in Palestine with Irgun Zwai Leumi; participated in Israel War of Liberation, 1948-49, Gedud 79 (Armoured Commando Unit). Security Officer, Moshav Habonim, Kfar Lam, 1949-50. Member, Beaconsfield Country Club. Married Chana Kahn 26th November, 1950; two sons. Recreation: Bowls.
