CHODOS, Woolf. Born Vilna, Poland, 1894, son of Hirschel and Hinda Chodos. Came to South Africa 1908. Educated in Vilna and Harrismith, O.F.S. Established the firm of Woolf Chodos (Pty.) Ltd. in Harrismith; now retired. Member of Harrismith Chamber of Commerce. Served on Committee of Governor-General's War Fund during World War II. Chairman of the Harrismith Hebrew Congregation (formerly Treasurer and Committee Member), Member, S.A. Jewish Orphanage, Witwatersrand Jewish Aged Home, Selwyn-Segal Home, Hachnoset Kalah, Yeshiva College, Jewish Institute for the Blind, Jerusalem, and the Durban Jewish Club.
