COHEN, Rabbi Haim. Minister of Religion. Born in Tangier, Morocco, 6th March, 1932, son of Yamin Cohen (Deputy Chief Rabbi of Tangier) and Simmy Cohen. Educated at the Lycee Francais and the Rabbinical Seminary. Rabbinical diploma conferred on him by Rabbi Jacob Toledano (late Chief Rabbi of Tel Aviv and former Minister of Religion in Israel). Came to South Africa 1956. Rabbi of the Paarl Hebrew Congregation, C.P. Formerly Rabbi of the Spanish and Portuguese Jewish Congregation, Johannesburg.
