COHEN, Ralph. Director of Companies. Born Wynberg, C.P., 28th January, 1911, son of Harry and Janie Cohen. Educated at Wynberg Boys High School and University of Cape Town. Director and Branch Manager, Permanent Life Assurance Co. Ltd. and Uni-Protection Insurance Co. Ltd. Previously practised as an attorney. Council member of the Cape Town Jewish Reform Congregation, 1958; Council member, Durban Jewish Reform Congregation since 1959, Chairman 1964. Executive member, Council of Natal Jewry 1962 and 1964. Foundation member King David Country Club. During Second World War served in the 2nd Anti-Aircraft in Kenya, Abyssinia, Eretria, Egypt. Was taken P.O.W. at Tobruk, and escaped from Italy to Switzerland, September 1943. Married Ruth Valerie Futerman, 1954; two sons, one daughter. Recreation: Golf.
