President of the Institute of Traffic Officers, 1954 and 1962; member of a large number of Road Safety and Traffic Research Committees. Engineer, Johannesburg City Council, 1933-39; Traffic Engineer, 1940-44; Deputy Chief Traffic Officer and Traffic Engineer, 1944-54. Member, Old Edwardian Club.
