DRUION, Lazarus. Assistant Secretary, S.A. Jewish Board of Deputies. Born Vereeniging, Transvaal, 23rd September, 1910, son of Samuel and Cecelia Druion. Educated in Vereeniging and at Houghton College, Johannesburg. Served articles in Law until he joined the staff of the S.A. Jewish Board of Deputies in October, 1934. While resident in Vereeniging was active in Zionist Youth work and the Hebrew Order of David (past Vice-President, Nahum Sokolow Lodge). Member of United Hebrew Congregation (Yeoville Synagogue) and Johannesburg Jewish Guild. Member of Linksfield Ridge Bowling Club. Married Pearl Slavin, 1945; two sons.
