EINHORN, Heinz Dieter. Dr. Ing. (Berlin), Ph.D. (Cape Town), M.I.E.E.., M. (S.A.) I.E.E., F.I.E.S., Electrical Engineer. Born Fürth, Bavaria, 28th July, 1906, son of Max David and Karola Einhorn. Came to South Africa 1934. Educated at Technische Hochschule, Munich and Berlin. Senior Lecturer in Electrical Engineering, University of Cape Town. Previous engineering practice in Germany and in South Africa. Part-time Consulting Engineer (electrical, mechanical and illuminating). Serves on technical committees of the International Commission on Illumination. Member, Friends of the Hebrew University and the Technion Society. Member of Owl Club Cape Town Arts Centre, S.A. Association of Arts, Ski Club of S.A. During World War II served in part-time signal training and naval research. Married Elsabe Carmen Kuys, 1945; two sons.
