BARK, Samuel, C.A. (S.A.). Chartered Accountant. Born Johannesburg 12th January, 1919; son of Isaac and Dora Bark. Educated at Höer Volkskool, Heidelberg, Tvl. Director of Atomic Foundations (Pty.) Ltd., Globe Industrial Equipment Co. (Pty.) Ltd., Star Transport (Pty.) Ltd. Was Accountant and Secretary to a commercial firm before going into own business as Accountant and Auditor. Member L/A Committee, Peri-Urban Areas Health Board, N.E. Johannesburg since 1964; Hon. Treasurer, S.A. Amateur Gymnastic Union since 1953; Hon. Treasurer, Yeoville Community Association, 1958- 1965. Committee member, S.A. Maccabi (S. Tvl.). 1961-1962; Hon. Treasurer, S.A. Jewish Ex-Service League, 1966. Member, Soldiers' Assistance Committee of Jewish Board of Deputies. Member, Chevra Kadisha, Hebrew Benevolent Society, Witwatersrand Jewish Aged Home and Selwyn Segal Hostel. Member, Linksfield Ridge Bowling Club. Served with South African Forces in World War II, 1st and 2nd S.A. Divisions 1940-43 (including service in North Africa), S.A. General Service Corps 1944-46.
