BARNETT, David Denison. Died 1966. Born Sydney Australia, 14th July, 1923, son of Albert Edward and Eleanore Marie Barnett. Educated at Glasgow Academy, Scotland. Came to South Africa September 1946. Was Regional Advertising Manager, "S.A. Jewish Times" (Natal and East Coast). Previously was professional actor and produced in England, Rhodesia and South Africa. Was also known as radio personality on S.A.B.C. National Dramatics Convenor, S.A. Youth Arts Council. Member, Jewish Ex-Service League; member, Jewish Welfare Association and Temple David (Durban Jewish Reform Congregation). During World War II served with Royal Engineers and was on military staff of E.N.S.A. attached to Army Welfare Services B.A.O.R. HQ. Married Patricia Anne Templer, 1959; two sons, one daughter.
