BATNITZKY, Jonathan. Journalist. Born Mariampol, Lithuania, 15th January, 1899, son of Solomon (Rabbi of Mariampol) and Rachel Batnitzky. Educated at Slobodko Yeshiva. Editor of "S.A. Rosh Hashanah Year Book." Former Editor, "African Jewish Newspaper," "Jewish Mail," organ of the South African Poalei-Zion, "Africaner" and "Dapim". Correspondent of Israeli daily papers. Editor, Hebrew supplement "Zionist Record". Author of "Israel Between East and West". Was General Secretary of the Hechalutz in Lithuania and Secretary of the Jewish National Council of Lithuania.
