BERELOWITZ, Harry. M.B., Ch.B. Medical Practitioner. Born Ponevezh, Lithuania, 9th December, 1889, son of Solomon and Deborah Berelowitz. Came to South Africa 1906. Educated at school in Lithuania, at college in South Africa and at Edinburgh University (Scotland). Hon. Consultant Anaesthetist Groote Schuur Hospital, Cape Town. Teacher of Anaesthesia at University of Cape Town, 1924-54. Member of Cape Town Hebrew Congregation and other Jewish organisations. Served as Hon. Anaesthetist in various hospitals in Israel in 1948. Member of Glen Country Club, Married Alice Basson, 1933; two daughters. Recreations: Amateur flying and music. Add.: 19, Forest Road, Oranjezicht, Cape Town.
