BERKMAN, Hyman Harry. M.P.S., Dip. Pharm. Pharmacist. Born Cape Town 12th December, 1919, son of Morris Nathan and Bertha Berkman. Educated at the J. J. Du Preez High School, Parow, University of Cape Town and Cape Technical College. Proprietor of Berkman's Pharmacy, Parow. Previously was Technical Assistant at Government Laboratories, 1937-45. Hon, Secretary, Parow Hebrew Congregation, 1950-51; Chairman, Zionist Revisionist Party, Western Province, 1962. Chairman, Tel Hai Fund, Cape Town, 1963-1964. Chairman of Cape Town Betar, 1947-1948. Committee member, King David Country Club, 1963-1966. During World War II was key man as technician in Government Laboratories. Served in Israeli Army during War of Liberation.
