BLOCH, Alick Sydney. Merchant. Born Bloemfontein 1st July, 1923, son of Louis and Sarah Bloch. Educated at Grey College, Bloemfontein. Director, East Rand Leather and Softs (Pty) Ltd., Bloemfontein. Member, Lodge Israel No. 18, Hebrew Order of David, President 1960-62; Committee member, S.A. Jewish Ex-Servicemen's League, and Chairman 1959- 60; member of Council of United Hebrew Institutions, Bloemfontein, since its inception, at present Trustee. During World War II served with S.A. Air Force ground staff in North Africa and Italy. Rank: Sergeant. Member, Ramblers Club; Chairman, Hilton Bowling Club. Married Taube Michalow, 1948; one son, two daughters. Recreation: Bowls.
