BORKOWF, David Louis. Wholesale Merchant. Born Seda, Lithuania, 3rd February, 1898, son of Israel Hirsch and Rachel Deborah Borkowf. Previously general shopkeeper at Mowbray, Cape Town, and hotelkeeper at Philippolis, O.F.S., and Krugersdorp, Transvaal. Father (the late Rev. I. H. Borkowf) was minister in Windhoek, South-West Africa, during the First World War, and subsequently in various Cape centres. Married Polly Cohen 18th March, 1945; one daughter.
