ARENS, Sarla. Child Psychologist. Born in Kibarty, German-Russian Border. Daughter of Julius and Lena Bernstein. Educated at the University of Königsberg. In charge of Psycho-Therapy work at Child Guidance Clinic, Cape Town, 1939-45. Organised Children's Zionist activities in Johannesburg until 1938 and Children's Groups in Cape Town, 1938-45. At present establishing network of cultural groups for young adults. Was Executive Member, Cape Town Board of Aid for five years. Psychological Counsellor for under-privileged Coloured children. Executive Member Bnoth Zion; Cultural Convenor, Bnoth Zion 1952-1961. Married the late Sydney Arens in 1916; two daughters. Add.: 9, Cumnor Court, Main Road, Kenilworth, Cape Town.
