WERKSMAN, Harris, Contractor and Builder. Born in Keidan, Russia, in 1861, and educated there. Married in 1882 to Nimie Werksman; has five children. Came to South Africa in 1890. South African Pioneer; Member of the United Hebrew Congregation, Johannesburg, and of the following: Talmud Torah, Keidan Helping Hand Society, and Poswohl Society.
