SAHARIN, Solomon, Merchant and Manufacturer, Commissioner of Oaths. Born in Homel, Russia in 1882, and educated there. Came to South Africa in 1903. Married in 1910 to Bertha Atkins; has three children. Commissioner of Oaths for Johannesburg District: Hon. Secretary, Cape of Good Hope Benevolent Association, from 1905 to 1910, and first Life Member; Member of Cape Philanthropic Society, 1906 to 1910; Foundation Member, North Johannesburg Congregation, 1913 to 1927; at present President of same Congregation; Vice-President of the Federated Synagogues of the Witwatersrand.
