SHINDLER, Morris Jonah, Principal of firm of M. J. Shindler. Born and educated in Riga. Married to Janie Green, has four children. As a young man was actively engaged in the Zionist Movement in London; was President of the Zionist Society in Newcastle-on-Tyne; Keenly interested in literary work; ex-Chairman, Pretoria Jewish Literary and Debating Society; ex-Chairman, Johannesburg Jewish Benevolent Society; became actively engaged in Johannesburg in the work of the Hebrew Order of David; was Deputy Grand President for five years and has been Grand Treasurer; at present is Grand President for the second time; Commissioner of Oaths; one of the oldest delegates to the Jewish Board of Deputies; Member of the first Committee of Jeppestown Talmud Torah; Member of many Jewish Institutions.
