Town Councillor, Salisbury, Rhodesia, 1902; Town Councillor, Bulawayo, 1922-1927; President of Bulawayo Hebrew Congregation for a number of years; noted Communal Worker in all directions: strong Zionist supporter: Chairman of the United Talmud Torahs; Member, Liquor Licensing Court: Member of Committee, Public Library; Member of the Government Advisory Board Committee: Lieutenant to Volunteers, 1914-1919.
