HERSCH, Isaac John (youngest son of the renowned Hebrew Scholar, M. D. Hersch), Produce Merchant. Born in Shavle, Lithuania, in 1890. Educated at Warsaw. Came to South Africa in 1904. Married in 1914 to Sarah Savell; has three children. Amongst the first workers of the U.J.J. National Fund Club, and took prominent part for all the time of its duration; Member of Committee, Berea Synagogue since 1918; at present, Treasurer of Berea Synagogue; Chairman of Palestine Club, No. 7.
