JANOWER, Joseph, Produce Merchant. Born in Lithuania in 1883. Came to South Africa in 1899. Married in 1911 to Alice, daughter of Mrs. and the late Mark Fine; has two children. Hon. Treasurer of the South African Zionist Federation from 1913-1928; present Chairman of the National Fund for South Africa, on behalf of the Zionist Executive; he is one of the Founders of the South African Palestine Enterprise (Binyan) Corporation, Ltd.
