KALLENBACH, Hermann, Architect. Born in 1871 in Russ, East Prussia. Educated at College Tilsit, studied architecture at Strelitz-i-M, Stuttgart, and Munich. Came to South Africa in 1896. Practised in Johannesburg, Pretoria and Durban; Senior Partner of the firm Kallenbach, Kennedy and Furner, A.R.I.B.A., Architects, of Johannesburg, Pretoria, Durban, and Cape Town; carried out numerous commercial buildings, theatres, hotels, residential blocks, churches, and residences in Transvaal, Natal, Cape Colony, and Orange Free State.
