GROLMAN, Benjamin, Clothing Manufacturer. Born in Schadowa, Russia, in 1871. Educated at Ponivas, Lithuania. Came to South Africa in 1890. Married in 1898 to Mina Nurik; has five children. Chairman Original Schadowa Sick Benefit Society, 1892/5; Committee Member, Young Men's Hebrew Association of America, 1892-93; Chairman of the Beth Hamedrash Golshiveg, 1904-1906; Chairman for last six years, Ophirton and Booysens Meneroth Hamoer; Chairman, Ophirton-Booysens Congregation, 1911-1922; Member of Executive, War Victims Fund; Member of Board of Deputies, Committee Member, Jewish Helping Hand 1924-1926; one of the Founders of Ophirton-Booysens Talmud Torah.
