ALBOW, Saul, Councillor of the City of Cape Town; Merchant and Director of Companies. Born in Tauroggen, Lithuania, in 1879. Educated in Tauroggen; also received Higher Talmudical Education in the Talmudical College of Tauroggen. Came to South Africa in 1895. Member of the Executive Cape Publicity Association; President of the Jewish Board of Guardians; Vice-President of the Jewish Benevolent and Helping Hand Association; Vice-Chairman of a number of sports clubs in the Peninsula; a Past President of the Cape Town Chess Club.
