Traub, Alexander Aaron


TRAUB, Alexander Aaron. LL.B. (Lond.). Wool Merchant. Born Cape Town 26th May, 1911, son of Abraham Simon and Rebecca Traub. Educated at South African College School, Cape Town; University College School, London; and London University. Director of the Federation of South African Wool and Mohair Buyers Ltd. Chairman, Cape Town Wool Exchange. Chairman, Cape Town Wool Buyers' Association. Past President, Federation of South African Wool and Mohair Buyers' Associations. During World War II served in Britain, Ceylon and Burmese Border with British Forces; Royal Artillery, 1939, transferred to R.A.F. 1941; demobilised in 1945 with rank of Flight Lieutenant. Author and Editor of various Bridge books. Bridge Editor, "Sunday Chronicle.' Contributing Editor, American Contract Bridge League's "Bridge Encyclopaedia."
