UCKO, Helga. Housewife. Born Breslau, Germany, 21st August,
1916. Educated at private Lyceum in Germany. Came to South Africa 1939.
Chairman, Sisterhood of Temple David, 1960-62 and 1964-66; Vice-Chairman,
1962-64. Deputy National President, S.A. Union of Temple Sisterhoods, 1966-69.
Member of Union of Jewish Women, Durban, and Durban Women's Zionist League.
Member of Durban Progressive Jewish Congregation. During World War II was
Commandant in V.A.D., South African Red Cross, and served on numerous welfare
organisations. Has written articles for numerous periodicals. Married Erasmus
Ucko, 25th February, 1939; one son, one daughter. Add.: 37 Lambrae, 26 Lambert
Road, Durban.
