WAKS, David. Merchant. Born Johannesburg, 12th January, 1916; son of Solomon and Emma Waks. Educated at Potchefstroom Boys' High School. Director of Blyvoor Timber and Hardware Co. Previously was Assistant Assayer to West Rand Consolidated Gold Mine for 13 years. Was three times Chairman of Carletonville Hebrew Congregation; President of Hebrew Order of David, David Ben Gurion Lodge, 1952; Chairman of Krugersdorp Chevra Kadisha, 1952. Member of Kadimah Country Club, Carletonville Bowling Club. Married Rena Danilowitz, 21st April, 1940; one son, two daughters. Recreations: bowls. Add.: 11 Flint Street, Carletonville; P.O.
