WEINBERG, Eli. Photographer. Born Libau, Latvia, 28th
August, 1908, son of Mordechai and Minna Weinberg. Educated at Stern-Trotzky
High School, Libau. Came to South Africa 1930. Council member and Hon. Life
Member, Institute of Professional Photographers. Secretary, Garment Workers'
Union (Cape) 1934-49; Agent, Industrial Council Clothing Industry, 1940-43;
Secretary, National Union of Commercial Travellers, 1943-53. Married Violet
Friedland, 1940; one son, one daughter. Recreations: Swimming, singing, mountaineering
and photography. Add.: 11, Plantation Road, Gardens, Johannesburg.
