WEINBERG, Leo. Consulting Analytical Chemist. Born Phillipolis, O.F.S., 21st March, 1895, son of Edward and Fanny Weinberg. Educated at Christian Brothers' College, Kimberley; S.A. College, Cape Town; M.I.T., Cambridge, U.S.A. (Queen Victoria Scholarship). Director of mining and industrial concerns; partner in Dr. L. Heymann's Laboratories, 1924-64. Was lecturer in physics to Transvaal School of Mines, 1918; One of the founders and first president of Students' Jewish Association at the South African College (1913); founder of Jewish Guild, Salisbury, Rhodesia, 1928; Secretary, Zionist Society, Salisbury, 1929.
