SCHLESINGER, John S. Chairman of the Schlesinger
Organisation. Born March, 1923. Educated at Michaelhouse and Harvard, U.S.A.
During 1939-1945 joined the United States Army Air Corps. At conclusion of
hostilities came to South Africa to join his father's business. In 1949, on the
death of his father (I. W. Schlesinger, founder of the Schlesinger
Organisation) took control of the Organisation and became Chairman of all the
companies in the Group.
