SHAMOS, Nathan. Business Executive. Born Yurburg, Lithuania,
1903, son of Nachman and Bertha Shamasewitz. Educated at Hebrew and Talmudical
schools in Tavrig, Lithuania. Came to South Africa 1921; furthered education at
Jewish Government School evening classes. Executive Director, Belfast Dress
Manufacturers; has years spent 30 years with the firm. Active member, Zionist
and other societies. For many years Committee and Executive member of United
Hebrew Institutions of Germiston. Foundation member, Chevra Lomdei Torah.
Married Sarah Dunsky, 1934; one son, one daughter. Recreations: Bowls, reading.
