(Father was an 1886 Johannesburg Pioneer and the first Hon. Treasurer and Hon. Secretary of the Park Street Synagogue. Parents' marriage was first to be conducted in the Park Synagogue.) Educated at Hilton College, Pretoria Boys' High School and Imperial College of Science and Technology, London. Was mining engineer with Rand Mines for 40 years, during which time was Manager of various mines. Past President, S.A. Institute of Mining Metallurgy, 1957-58. Member, Rotary Club. During World War I was Lieutenant in Royal Flying Corps. Married Pearl Sarah Maisels, 1933; two sons. Recreation: Gardening. Add.: 8, Westcliff Drive, Westcliff, P.O. Box 1598, Johannesburg.
