Head of College House 1938/39. Varsity Full Blue for Athletics 1938/39. President of Natal Inland Branch, Medical Association, 1956; Chairman, Pietermaritzburg Cine and Photographic Society, 1957; President Lions International, Pietermaritzburg, 1966; Vice-President, Care of Aged, 1967. Member, Pietermaritzburg Hebrew Congregation. Member, Wanderers Club, Collegians Club. During World War II served with South African Forces as Regimental Medical Officer in Royal Natal Carbineers, 1941-45. Was awarded Military Cross in the Field, Italy 1944. Wounded in action, Gazala. Won three gold medals at International Film Festival, Rapallo, Italy, for 8 and 16 mm. (including best film of the year) and many silver medals and cups for films. Married Rose Maris, 7th July, 1946; one son, two daughters. Add.: 16, Valley Vista Road, Pietermaritzburg.
