RUBIK, Baruch Leib. B.A. LL.B. Attorney. Died 1964. Born Wilkomir, Lithuania, 12th March, 1899, son of Shmarya and Malke Rubik. Educated at colleges and Yeshivoth in Slobodka, Wilno and Kovno, where he received Smichas Rabbonus from famous Rabbis. Came to South Africa in 1922 and took his Law degree at Cape Town University. Played a leading part in Zionist and Hebrew cultural work in Cape Town, on the Zionist Council, the Cape Board of Jewish Education, the Histadruth Ivrith, and Israel Maritime League. Married Annie Marks, 1923; four daughters. He lived at Avenue Le Sueur, Sea Point, Cape Town.
