Ran a picture framing business for several years then gave that up to become a professional musician, playing as violinist with the Cape Town and other orchestras. Also took up painting and completed many pictures. Keenly interested in communal affairs and is a member of several Jewish organisations. Served with the South African Forces in the First World War. First married 1919; two daughters. Subsequently married Frymet Goldberg, 1953. Recreations: Chess, music, painting. Add.: 11, Mount Valma, 45 Hendon Street, Yeoville, Johannesburg.
