LEVY, Jack. Jack. Retired. Born Trobian, Lithuania, 1894, son of Bernard and Chaya Riva Levy. Came to South Africa 1907. Educated at Market St. School, Johannesburg. Ran a picture framing business for several years then gave that up to become a professional musician, playing as violinist with the Cape Town and other orchestras. Also took up painting and completed many pictures. Keenly interested in communal affairs and is a member of several Jewish organisations. Served with the South African Forces in the First World War.
