LEVY, Zalmin. Born Plungian, Lithuania, 20th March, 1907; son of Shlomo Ben-Zion and Rode Levy. Educated at Telz and Ponevez Yeshivot. Came to South Africa, 1927. Director of Polzal Holdings (Pty.) Ltd. Previously was hotel proprietor and director of printing concern. National Chairman, S.A. Yiddish Cultural Federation; deputy to S.A. Jewish Board of Deputies. Co-editor of "Dorem Afrike;" contributor to various Yiddish and Anglo-Jewish periodicals, both local and overseas; lecturer on cultural subjects. Married Polly Kolt, 7th November, 1937. Add.: P.O.
