Previously in practice as Chartered Accountant and Auditor and Director of Sydenham Bottle Store (Pty.) Ltd. Vice-Chairman, Witwatersrand Bottle Store Keepers Association 1967 (and on the Association's Price Committee, 1964-67); Executive Member, Greenside Residents' Association, 1959-67; President, Witwatersrand Hebrew Benevolent Association, 1962-64, Executive Member, 1952- 1967; Executive Member, United Zionist Revisionist Party, 1965-67. Member, Parkview/Greenside Hebrew Congregation, Delegate Transvaal Jewish Welfare Council. Member Melrose Bowling Club. Served in 8th Brigade Mortars, Israeli War of Independence, 1947-48.
