Former Chairman, General Council of Bar of South Africa, and former chairman of Johannesburg Bar Council. Chairman, S.A. Zionist Federation. Now Vice-President, formerly Chairman and President, S.A. Jewish Board of Deputies. Former President, United Hebrew Congregation, Johannesburg. Member, Country Club, Johannesburg; Salisbury Club. Served as Major in South African Air Force during World War II and received military commendation. Married Muriel Honor Freed, 1934; two sons, two daughters. Recreation: Golf.
