MARKS, Aaron. Director of Companies. Born Lithuania 1st May, 1906, son of Raphael Isaac and Rachel Marks. Educated in Lithuania. Came to South Africa 1926. Previously was Storekeeper. Served in Home Guard during World War II. Married Bertha Liebenthal, 1939; two sons, two daughters. Recreation: Bowls. Add.: 25, Queens Road, Sea Point, Cape Town. Mr. A. Marks, together with his brother, Mr. B. Marks, started Maccabee Clothing Limited factory at Potchefstroom in 1933. In those days it was the very first factory of that kind in the Platteland. Towards the end of 1946 the same factory was transferred to Cape Town, and Mr. B. Marks resigned as Director from the above factory in 1951.
