Educated at Leeds College of Technology and University of South Africa. Research Electronics Engineer at the Nuclear Physics Research Unit, University of the Witwatersrand. Previously was assistant manager, Philips Electronic Division, Johannesburg. Served with British Forces during Second World War in Air Training Corps and Royal Marines Commando; was in D Day Landing at Normandy and saw service in India, Burma, China.
