Chairman 1947-1952 and thereafter member of its Council. Member, United Hebrew Institutions of Bloemfontein. Foundation member of Randfontein Rotary Club and its President 1946-47 and 1951-52. Served during World War II in National Volunteer Brigade. Member, Ramblers Club, Bloemfontein and Tweespruit Sports Club. Married Rose Shulman, 6th August, 1939; one son, one daughter.
