Life-Member of North Eastern Hebrew Congregation, Johannesburg; Etz-Chayim Congregation Hebrew Order of David, Jewish Ex-Service League. Served in France during World War I and was in Civic Guard, Johannesburg, during World War II. Awarded German and South African medals. Married Eva Adler, 29th January, 1936; two sons.
