MORAFKIN, Harry. Market and Commission Agent and Farmer. Born Ekaterinoslav, Russia, 1st January, 1901; son of Mordchai and Braina Morafkin. Educated in Russia, Came to South Africa 1928 from Israel, where he had emigrated in 1920 as a chalutz, and was a member of Gedud Avoda and Haganah. Was one of the pioneer group that cleared the swamps at Ein Harod in the Emek. Member of Port Elizabeth United Hebrew Institutions and Zionist Organisation. Member of Wedgewood Country Club.
