Previously was Senior Visiting Physician, King Edward VII Hospital. Past President, Durban Jewish Club; past President, Council of Natal Jewry; past Chairman, Jewish Education Council of Natal. Was member, Durban Jewish Club and Durban Country Club. During World War II served as a Major in the S.A. Medical Corps (O.C., C.M.E., S.A.M.C.). Married Ida Shapiro, 1934; one son, one daughter.
