MOSHAL, Solomon. Accountant and Chairman of Companies. Born Dwinks, Russia, 21st December, 1894, son of Jacob and Sheba Moshal. Came to South Africa, 1902. Educated in Durban at Natal Technical College. Director of Moshal Gevisser Holdings Ltd. and associated companies; Acme Timber Industries Ltd.; W. R. Boustred Ltd.; and various finance and investment companies. Hon life president, S.A. Lumber Millers' Association; hon president Council of Natal Jewry. First president, Durban Jewish Circle, 1919 (now Durban Jewish Club). Received Civic Honours from the Municipality of Durban, 1962. During First World War served as lieutenant and saw action in Central Africa. Member, Durban Jewish Club and Circle Country Club. Married Margaret Lange, 1923; two daughters.
