Born in Johannesburg in 1897. Educated at Twist Street School, Johannesburg; School of Agriculture, Elsenburg; University of Witwatersrand, Transvaal University College, Pretoria. OSRIN, Raphael Barnett. B.V.Sc. Veterinarian. Born Johannesburg 23rd November, 1897, son of Abel and Sarah Osrin. Educated at Universities of Witwatersrand and Pretoria. State Veterinarian, having been in Government service since 1926. He was the first Jew to qualify as a Veterinarian at Onderstepoort (1925). Member, Wedgwood Park Country Club, Port Elizabeth.
